SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Part-Time Police Officer works for the Tupelo Police Department in a part-time, non-supervisory law enforcement capacity in various positions as designated by the Tupelo Police Administration, specifically the Major of the Operations Division.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices

The Part-Time Police Officer will perform several functions as needed:
1. Provide physical security duties to City Hall by tracking visitors into the building by signing them into a log book and ensuring they leave the building after their business is conducted. Provide security for City Council meetings after hours.
2. Provide physical security duties at the Tupelo Regional Airport during normal business hours by adequately screening visitors as they enter either location
3. Perform standard law enforcement functions while assigned to a Patrol shift.
